Air filter standards

There are five types of air filters: primary filters, intermediate filters, high and medium filters, sub-high efficiency filters and high-efficiency filters. Various models have different standards and use efficiency.


Role of air filter

The compressed air from the air source contains excessive water vapour and oil droplets, as well as solid impurities, such as rust, sand, pipeline sealant, etc. These will damage the piston sealing ring, block the small vent holes on the components, shorten the service life of the components or make them fail.


The function of the air filter is to separate liquid water and liquid oil droplets from compressed air and filter out dust and solid impurities in the air, but cannot remove gaseous water and oil.


Air filters are widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, electric power, machinery, light industry, textile, automobile manufacturing, electronics, food, medicine, biochemistry, national defence, scientific research and other industries and departments that require compressed air purification.


Basic types of air filters

Air freshener consists of a circuit negative ion generator, micro-fan, air filter and other systems, of which the air filter can be divided into the primary filter, medium efficiency filter, high-efficiency filter and sub-high efficiency models according to its working principle.


Primary air filters: Often made of synthetic fibre, the outer frame is made of a strong, moisture-proof cardboard frame. The frame is made of a sturdy, moisture-proof hard paper frame, which will not be deformed, ruptured or twisted under normal operating conditions. In addition, the filter media is fixed diagonally before and after the frame, and the filter media and the outer frame are tightly bonded to the outer frame to prevent air leakage.


Medium efficiency air filters: Made from a combination of synthetic fibres and galvanised iron. Various efficiencies are available, including 40-45%, 60-65%, 80-85%, and 90-95% medium-efficiency filters with no separators. The flange consists of 26 gauge galvanised iron. It can be applied to industrial, commercial, hospitals, schools, buildings and other kinds of factory air-conditioning equipment, and can also be installed in gas turbine air intake equipment or computer rooms to prolong the service life of the equipment.


High-efficiency air filter: It is suitable for air filtration at room temperature and humidity, and is allowed to contain traces of acid, alkali and organic solvents. The product has high efficiency, low resistance and large dust-holding capacity, and is widely used in aerospace, aviation, electronics, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering and other fields.


Separated high-efficiency filter: The filter material is separated and folded into shapes by using special automatic equipment to make the wrinkled aluminium foil, and the management of the production process and strict side tests guarantee the quality of the product.


The rapid development of air filters is closely related to the development of military and electronic industries. At present, countries are still trying to research and it is estimated that more advanced air filters will appear soon.
