How to clean the air purifier filter?

1. Pre-filter

Pre-filter, also known as pre-filter, or preliminary filter, is the first layer of air purifier filters and is also the most easily dirty layer of filters.

Cleaning cycle: depending on the frequency of use, it is usually more appropriate to clean 1-2 times a month.

Cleaning steps: Remove the filter when cleaning, and use a vacuum cleaner or rag to clean up the dust, if the filter states that it can be washed, it is recommended to use water to wash and brush clean, and then shake dry or use a hairdryer to blow dry after loading back into the air purifier.

2. Activated carbon filter

The main role of the activated carbon filter is to remove volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, toluene, etc., as well as in addition to odour, deodorant, etc..

Cleaning cycle: for newly renovated users, during the southern rainy season, and the northern rainy season, it is recommended that at least 1 month of cleaning and drying once; other cases can be adjusted according to the different frequencies of use, and appropriate cleaning cycle.

Cleaning steps: The dust on the surface of the activated carbon filter can be wiped with a dry rag or cleaned with a hoover at a low speed. Due to the special characteristics of the pore structure and solidity of activated carbon, it is not recommended to wash it without clear instructions. Put the cleaned filter in the outdoor sunlight, and expose the front and back sides to the sun for 2-3 hours, to make it warm up and "desorb", and achieve the effect of "regeneration" of the activated carbon. Although the role is limited, and exposure to the sun 3-4 times still can not rewrite the fate of the eventual replacement, regular cleaning to maintain the filter purification effect, and reduce the risk of secondary pollution is still very necessary.

3. HEPA filter

HEPA high-efficiency air filter, with large wind resistance, large dust capacity, and high filtration precision.

Cleaning cycle: According to the frequency of use and different pollution conditions, it usually 1-2 months to clean up 1 time, but also according to the cumulative use of time to judge the timing of cleaning.

Cleaning steps: As the HEPA filter material generally belongs to the paper category, if there is no specific label can not be washed to clean, otherwise it will change the filter pore structure or even cause blockage, directly affecting the purification effect. You can use a Hoover to clean up the dust on the filter surface (except glass fibre HEPA) or dry rags, or paper towels, gently wipe, and appropriate air drying, such as conditions can also be sterilised by ultraviolet rays; however, if you find that the original white colour of the filter black, be sure to replace as soon as possible, clean up, pay attention not to scratch the surface of the filter.

4. Allergen filter

Allergen filters are designed to remove all kinds of allergens in the air so that some people with allergic rhinitis or other allergies are free from the harm of allergens.

Cleaning cycle: It is recommended to clean or replace it once a month.

Cleaning steps: allergen filters can not be washed after some time and can be used to beat the dust.

5. Water filter

The role of the water filter is to purify the air at the same time it will be humidified.

Cleaning cycle: needs to be replaced once a month, generally due to different water quality differences, a week to clean is more appropriate.

Cleaning steps: If the water filter is dirty, you can use vinegar, alcohol, etc. to soak it.
