Air purifiers through indoor air adsorption, filtration, catalytic decomposition, and release of negative ions and other means, filter dust, eliminate odors and harmful gases, and kill bacteria, and mold, to improve the purpose of indoor air quality. However, air purifiers can also fail, such as the indicator light, the fan does not turn, etc. So, how to overhaul and deal with a broken air purifier?
The common faults of air purifier
1. The high voltage indicator light does not light, and the fan does not turn.
Analysis and repair: The high-voltage indicator does not light up, generally the power supply fuse or high-voltage generator circuit is faulty. Should be checked in the following order:
Check whether the fuse is blown, if it is broken, the cause should be identified and then replaced.
Check whether the step-up transformer coil is burnt out, use a multimeter to measure its resistance, if the coil is open or short-circuited, it should be replaced with the same type of transformer.
Check whether the rectifier tube and capacitor of the voltage-doubling rectifier circuit are damaged, and whether the oscillator stops vibrating. Use a multimeter to detect the relevant components one by one, replace the burnt components, can troubleshoot.
2. High-voltage indicator light, but the fan does not turn.
Analysis and repair: The high-voltage indicator is bright, indicating that the power supply high-voltage circuit is normal, and the fan may be faulty. First, check whether the fan blade is stuck by foreign objects, bearing serious wear and tear, if there is no abnormality, then check whether the motor leads are disconnected and whether the winding is damaged. Available multimeter measurement, if the winding is open or short circuit, should be replaced with the same specification fan motor.
3. Negative ion generator pole fire.
Analysis and repair: negative ion generator between the pole fire, There may be too much humidity in the ambient air, may also be positive, negative pole piece bending deformation caused by. First, use tweezers to correct the pole piece, if it still fires, the air purifier can be moved to a dry air place to try, generally troubleshooting.
4. Negative ion output concentration is low.
Analysis and repair: There may be too much dust and dirt on the filter and electrode, positive and negative pole piece bending deformation; there may also be a high-voltage circuit failure caused by high pressure is too low. First, clear the dirt on the screen and electrodes, correct the positive and negative pole piece, if ineffective, and then check the high-voltage circuit. Use a multimeter to check the step-up transformer, rectifier, capacitors, and so on.
Note: When cleaning the dust on the fan motor and electrode, be sure to cut off the power supply, unplug it, short the high-voltage electrode discharge, and brush away the dust with a long-bristle brush; use tweezers to clip alcohol cotton balls to clean the electrode seat; do not disassemble the high-voltage electrode of the negative-ion generator casually.
Alegra suggests that, in the event of uncertainty about the failure, it is best to send the after-sales factory overhaul, to avoid secondary damage to the machine, but also to their unpleasant mood.
